BOLONIA SWING

Problem

The proposal sent to iSiMAR was to develop a product that would fulfill any of the needs that they were missing on their catalog. After a few meetings, both physical and online due to the pandemic ongoing, the brief of the project was settled: To design a furniture piece with the objective of giving the user a relaxing and peaceful place to rest on the side of the the swimingpool.

Process

The first step of the project was to analyse the possible collections to which this type of product could be added. And by analysing those collection’s carachteristics, and the offer of iSiMAR’s competence on the market, I developed various options of possible swing to add to their main collections.

Solution

The project turned out as an iconic swing that iSiMAR added to his main collection, Bolonia, on the 2021-22 catalogue.

Learnings

iSiMAR’s customers were really impressed by the swing, and soon it began to be included in many project proposals. But even with the customer’s acceptance, and the need of this kind of product on iSiMAR’s catalogue, the product was too expensive to manufacture, and too big to transport, which made it complicated to add in most of the projects. From this experience I learned the importance of considering and taking close attention to the manufacturing process of the project, as well as the logistics of it.
